This book presents the C# language in a uniquely succinct and visual format. Often in programming books, the information can be hidden in a vast sea of words. As a programmer who has over the years used a dozen programming languages, the author understands it can sometimes be difficult to slog through another 1,000-page book of dense text to learn a new language. There are likely many other programmers who feel the same way. To address this situation, this book explains C# using figures; short, focused code samples; and clear, concise explanations. Figures are of prime importance in this book. While teaching programming seminars, Daniel Solis found that he could almost watch the lightbulbs going on over the students’ heads as he drew the figures on the whiteboard. In this text, he has distilled each important concept into simple but accurate illustrations. The visual presentation of the content will give you an understanding of C# that’s not possible with text alone. For something as intricate and precise as a programming language, however, there must be text as well as figures. But rather than long, wordy explanations, Solis has used short, concise descriptions and bulleted lists to make each important piece of information visually distinct. By the end of this book, you’ll have a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the C# language, whether you’re a novice programmer or a seasoned veteran of other languages. If you want a long, leisurely, verbose explanation of the language, this is not the book for you. But if you want a concise, thorough, visual presentation of C#, this is just what you’re looking for.

The present volume in the organogermanium series describes mononuclear compounds containing only germanium-carbon and germanium-hydrogen bonds (Chapter 1.3). Germanium hydrides with other additional non-carbon ligands, such as halogen or oxygen bonded groups, appear in later chapters according to the Gmelin principle of the last posi tion. Compounds with Ge-H and Ge-O bonds have already been described in Volume 5, Section 1.5.1.4, pp. 50/62. The present volume covers the literature to the end of 1992 and includes many references up to 1994. The nomenclature recommended by IUPAC has been generally adhered to. However, compound names were largely avoided, as most of the compounds are presented in tables and are only identified by their formulas. Many of the data in the tables appear in abbreviated form without units; general explanations are given on pp. X/XI. The volume contains an empirical formula index (p. 327) and a ligand formula index (p.341). The editor wishes to express his gratitude to the former author, Professor J. E. Drake, and to Professor J. Satge for his kind advice and fruitful collaboration. Thanks are due also to Dr. A. R. Pebler for editing the English text and to Mr. H.-G. Karrenberg for drawing the numerous formulas and molecular structures.

Robust analysis shows a more complete picture of market behavior Getting Started in Stock Analysis is an exciting visual guide to both technical and fundamental analysis for the private investor. Rather than addressing the benefits of fundamental or technical analysis, author and trader Michael C. Thomsett draws upon three decades' experience in the stock market to demonstrate why traders need to employ both. Readers will learn how both methods are different aspects of the same cause and effect within the market, and how exploiting one method at the expense of the other results in an incomplete picture of the true market behavior. Coverage includes a full explanation of the range of indicators necessary to create a working system of analysis that anyone can perform on their own, helping long- and short-term investors alike improve selection and confirm investment decisions. Charts of actual listed companies demonstrate how these techniques are applied in a real trading environment. Investors and traders are constantly seeking the "magic bullet" for identifying profitable trades and timing both entry and exit. Since the 1940s, the average holding period has fallen from eight years to eight weeks – making fundamental and technical analysis more challenging. This book describes how combining these approaches can compensate for the modern market environment to produce a more accurate – and profitable – analysis. Choose better stocks and other securities Improve entry and exit while managing risk Develop more robust analysis skills Blend fundamental and technical analysis techniques The reduced cost of trading, ease of access via the Internet, and changes in the overall culture of the stock market have increased the pace and volume of trading more than ever before. In this environment, sharp analysis becomes ever more critical. Getting Started in Stock Analysis is the visual guide to more confident investing.

This vivid narrative history -- magnificently illustrated with more than 400 photographs, many of them never before published -- takes us on a gripping journey through the turbulent history of the region that has come to symbolize America around the world. Drawing on hundreds of letters, diaries, memoirs, and journals as well as the latest scholarship, The West presents a cast as rich and diverse as the western landscape itself: explorers and soldiers and Indian warriors, settlers and railroad builders and gaudy showmen. The book is filled with stories of heroism and hope, enterprise and adventure, as well as tragedy and disappointment. It explores the tensions between whites and the native peoples they sought to displace, but it also encompasses the Hispanic experience in the West. Gracefully written, handsomely designed, meticulously researched, The West is an unrivaled work of history that brilliantly captures all the drama and excitement, the sober realities and bright myths of the American West.
