99% of the Earth’s population exhibits signs of telepathy and telekinesis. 99% of the Earth’s population is dying from a mysterious new disease. The Collector, unaffected by the virus, has taken it upon himself to search for answers. Pushed by the single command: Find the Cause, Find the Source, Find the Beginning, he traverses through other minds, collecting memories in the hopes of finding a single clue that might lead to a cure. But it isn't so easy. Confused and frightened mobs attack hospitals. Jumpers steal bodies from the healthy. And some telepaths set dubious, mental traps. How will The Collector respond? What measures will he take to keep people from killing each other, all the while staying true to his goal? And what trouble lurks within his own mind? This is only the beginning. Follow The Collector in his search for The Cause, The Source, and The Beginning in each novella of The Spiral Effect.

The Spiral After-Effect presents the visual phenomenon of the spiral after-effect in clinical investigations. This book explains how and under what conditions the illusion happens or can be modified. Organized into eight chapters, this book begins with an overview of the features of illusion that are similar to many of the characteristics of other movement perceptions, including vividness, velocity, and persistence. This text then examines the complex structure and the geometric function of the inducing stimulus. Other chapters consider the effects of drugs on the spiral illusion, which is rather strange when one considers the wide use of the phenomenon in patient groups who may be receiving substantial admixtures of compound for therapeutic purposes. This book discusses as well the relationship between intelligence and perception of the spiral after-effect. The final chapter deals with the conditioned after-effect. Clinical psychologists and readers who are interested in personality research will find this book useful.
Walls was primarily concerned with after-images rather than movement after-sensations but chose the spiral effect because it is seen “only in the presence of, or as affecting the appearance of, a new visual stimulus”.

How many times have you found yourself facing the same problems-- time after time, year after year, season after season? Do you continuously choose paths that lead to more pitfalls and greater frustrations? It is as though God delivers you only to end up staring down the same barrels again-- and again. Is God trying to tell you something in these situations? The SPIRAL Effect represents the common mindsets, lifestyles, and behaviors that cause our lives to become a continuous series of loops and repeats-- a SPIRAL. We are constantly "doing" yet never moving on to higher heights and greater insights and certainly never moving forward into the path God ordained for us. These behaviors cause us to forfeit many blessings, leaving us with a sense of lack, defeat, and much regret. This does not have to be our ending. The knowledge gained from this book will enable you to relinquish the SPIRAL and to instead ride the waves of destiny. More importantly, God will be glorified as you begin to receive (and not forfeit) the countless blessings that He has in store. He is so faithful and ever so worthy. And so are you.Be blessed and be a blessing!
This does not have to be our ending. The knowledge gained from this book will enable you to relinquish the SPIRAL and to instead ride the waves of destiny.

This book describes a realist, fallibilist alternative when intuitionism and its psychocentric ontology are rejected. Weissman proposes an agenda for metaphysical inquiry and also a method for testing metaphysical claims. Arguing that science and metaphysics are successive refinements of the maps and plans used in practical life, he affirms that metaphysics is to complete our self-understanding by locating us within a world we have not made. This book is a sequel to Intuition and Ideality which surveys the many versions of intuitionismintuitionism as it prescribes that reality be identified with mind itself or with the things set before our inspecting mind.
and signified as we abstract from things observed, then as we vary and combine the abstracted ideas, why not allow that cause and effect might be abstracted from the context of its first confirmed applications? The answer I propose goes ...

Second Part to the Spiral Effect At the Chalmers’ Institute, a man with Dissociative Identity Disorder recruits other patients to reenact slave revolts against the Roman Legion, outlaws robbing trains in the old west, pirates scouring the sea for booty, ghosts tormenting the living, and gods creating new worlds. In New York, a puppeteer regales children with renditions of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, but during the late night hours, he keeps drug pushers and gang members off his neighborhood street in Flatbush. In Chicago, a vagrant is drawn by the whisper of an unknown voice to wander the streets and find a mysterious figure who holds all of the answers. One man, cut apart and split into three lives. Are they connected or the disjointed reality of a disturbed individual? And what happens when the door to the Spiral Effect opens, awakening in his mind a power long forgotten? The mystery behind the Spiral Effect deepens as The Collector pores through disjointed memories and dreams in hopes of discovering the true Alex Wonder.
