John Eaton, well known for his Psalms commentary, here offers a new model of commentary-writing. The psalms treated are those exalting God's Torah (Psalms 1, 19, 119) and those proclaiming his kingship (93, 97, 99). A detailed examination is made of the treatment of these psalms by selected exegetes from Delitzsch to the present. General conclusions are then drawn for such questions as dating, text, unity, meaning, piety, theology, and relation to prophecy. Both groups of psalms are found to contain great riches of religious insight and experience, which exegetes have rarely come within range of appreciating. Several important interpreters are only superficially known outside their own language group; the present study seeks to remedy this.

How does one make sense of the life and teaching of Jesus? He describes a kingdom that is perfect and which he rules as king. His kingdom is still coming, yet we begin to live as its citizens now. He asks us to live like him. But how is that possible? Jesus did miracles routinely. He said he actually was God. He often faced deadly peril with perfect calmness, and at times he was fully aware of what was in other people's minds. How can I live like that?. It is this challenging, frustrating, marvelous, troubling, mind-blowing life and teaching of Jesus that we find in the gospel record, and that I have tried to make clear in these pages.

Neil Anderson, author of the bestselling The Bondage BreakerTM, and his coauthors expose the trauma of legalism to let you see how Christ frees you from your efforts to be “good enough for God.” Far too many Christians believe that the Christian life is “trying hard to do what God commands.” But making laws into lords estranges you from Christ. In this liberating book, the authors uncover the chains of legalism: shame, guilt, and pride the keys to liberty: knowing who you are in Christ and resting in the Father’s love the life of freedom: experiencing joyful friendship with God and obeying Him because you love Him If you’re weighed down by rules you can’t possibly keep, here’s encouragement and an appeal to the church to be free in Christ. Previously titled Breaking the Bondage of Legalism.

There is an increasingly intense interest in political theology amongst contemporary scholars and students. Yet, while there are many authors engaging in political theology, there are very few resources about political theology which aim to orient students and other recent new-comers to the field.
